| Conservation - Our Mission
From our love of nature and wildlife comes a sense of urgency to protect and preserve our planet for future generations. The following are some of our long-term personal objectives and will be our guiding principles:-
| Education, education, education... | Through photography, tourism and collaboration with other conservation-focused organisations, we hope to reach the widest global audience; Through appreciation of nature and wildlife, we hope to raise the same sense of passion in others that we ourselves feel for the land and all its inhabitants; Through raising awareness of the fragility of our finely-balanced ecology, we hope to inspire others to take positive action to protect our planet; Through increasing awareness of how we can contribute to preserving Earth's natural wonders and of the numerous global organisations who've been leading these efforts, we hope to provide the tools for others to take an active role; Through educating the local community, we hope to assist them in protecting their own bio-diversity, to strengthen their roles as the natural stewards of the local environment and wildlife and to conserve their rightful heritage. |
| Eco-tourism | To promote responsible tourism, to protect the natural habitat and the wildlife, and to contribute to the well-being of the local communties. This plays a big part in our selection criteria for the tour operators / lodges that we decide to work with. |

| Dedicated to Conservation Photographic safaris in Africa are all about capturing the beauty of this amazing continent – the awe-inspiring natural landscape, the varied and fantastic creatures and the amazing people you encounter along the way. But our photo safaris do not start and finish when you step on and off the plane. Rather, when you go on one of our photo safaris you are contributing to a far larger project. |
| A Land that Needs Protecting We want our customers to continue enjoying the wonder of Africa, but it is a sad fact that much of this stunning continent is under threat. That’s why our photography safaris involve more than just taking pictures. Instead, our aim is to provide a service that combines photography, low-impact tourism and a commitment to conservation. Our aim is to not only raise awareness in others about the beauty and magic of this continent, but to also share our concern for the very real threats faced by the animals and people that inhabit it. For this reason we work in direct collaboration with numerous charities and organisations who all share the same goal of protecting the continent and encouraging others to get involved with conservation efforts. This means supporting new initiatives to improve conservation schemes for individual species of animals, pressuring big industry to adopt more environmentally friendly practices and helping to educate the inhabitants of the land about how precious these natural resources are, both for them and for the rest of us. |

Photography Creates a Shared Understanding Photography is not a solo activity. Taking the actual photographs might seem a solitary exercise, but photography is really all about sharing experiences. When you go to Africa on a photo safari you will be sharing the beauty of the locations you visit not just with the other people on your trip, but with your friends and family back home through the photos you take. Your photos can help to inspire in others the same feelings that you will experience during your time in Africa, enabling you to present the beauty of the continent to people all over the world. This way we can help others to realise that Africa is a special land that needs protecting from the many dangers that it faces. |

The Role of Observers We are just observers when we visit Africa, and we should never forget that. But as observers it is our duty to help to protect and maintain this environment for the enjoyment of future generations. Eco tourism is at the heart of our core beliefs, and the promotion of low-impact, responsible tourism practices is hugely important to how we operate. We are privileged to be able to admire this wonderful landscape and the people and animals that inhabit it, and it is only right that we enjoy it in a responsible manner. |
Three Key Areas Our conservation efforts focus on three main areas: people, wildlife, and the natural landscape. We have joined up with partners with other organisations in each of these areas, and together we work together for a better Africa. Only through close collaboration can we help to preserve this wonderful place for future generations to enjoy. |
Shared Responsibilty In the end, looking after Africa is a responsibility that we all share. We have a duty to care for the land, the animals and the people if we are to help make a difference. Only if we respect the beauty and wonder that continue to confront us on every trip to Africa will we continue to enjoy this unique land and the natural wonders that belong to it. |
