Great Migration

Highlights
The Serengeti Migration - also known as the Great Migration - is arguably the most spectacular natural wonder of the world. Over a million wildebeasts and hundreds of thousands of gazelle and zebra traverse the Serengeti in their annual migration as they follow the rains in search of greener pastures. The time of year we'll be visiting is the tail-end of the wildebeast calving season, a period between late January and mid-March where hundreds of thousands of calves are born. This typically lures out the predators who see the young calves as easier prey. We will spend several days in the Serengeti to photograph the migration and other resident wildlife before moving on to the scenic Lake Manyara and finally to the Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

A truly unforgettable and memorable experience!

Schedule

5th Mar International flight to Tanzania, arrival in Arusha Our A&T representative will meet you at Kilimanjaro International Airport and drive you to Arusha, gateway to the Serengeti, where we will be staying overnight. A beautiful boutique lodge with its own private coffee plantation awaits you, you can unwind from your long flight or take a tour to learn about the art of coffee making.
6th - 9th Mar Serengeti National Park After a sumptuous buffet breakfast, we will catch a charter flight to the Western Serengeti in pursuit of the migrating herds. The Serengeti is arguably the most impressive national park in the world. It is home to an incredibly diverse range of wildlife and famed for the annual migration, thought to be the single most spectacular natural phenomenon. We will spend four nights to witness and photograph the movement of the migration on land, the birth of young wildebeast calves and hopefully get to photograph some predators in action. We will also board a hot-air balloon for some truly amazing aerial shots.
10th - 11th Mar Lake Manyara We depart the Serengeti National Park and make our way to Lake Manyara. Lake Manyara is a picturesque national park with a wealth of varied habitats and abundance of wildlife, and is particularly renowned for bird watching. Witness how the lake turns pink as the flamingos flock here in their hundreds of thousands.
12th - 13th Mar Ngorongoro Crater Depart Lake Manyara and drive to the Ngorongoro Crater - a World Heritage site and one of Africa’s wonders of the world. It boasts the largest intact caldera in the world and is home to an incredible variety of free-roaming wildlife. Marvel at this decliate eco-system shared by herbivores and predators alike, in a stunning landscape that is sure to imprint itself in your memory.
14th Mar Return to home country Depart for Arusha where we will catch our international flights back to our respective home countries.
